un-common object(s)
I created the Un-Common Object(s) book as an accordion-fold book assignment in my Artists’ Book course at Texas Christian University. Wanting to challenge myself, I decided to take two accordion folded papers and fold them into each other.
One accordion fold displays a wide assortment of shape based illustrations and simple overlapping patterns on top of a gradient background. The second fold displays manipulated text, simple patterns and laser cut shapes to contrast the colorful page. The front and back cover of the book is layered in laser cut stickers & Mylar and includes exposed edges.
The manipulated type, illustrations, laser cut shapes and bookbinding were handcrafted for this project.
